That is to say, if the difference between Mb and M0 is small, the effect of carbon fiber bending reinforcement is limited, and pasting more carbon fibers can not improve the bending capacity, but can only lead to super reinforced sections that are not allowed by the specification.


In terms of construction, the thickness of bonded steel or carbon fiber cloth should not be too thick. For the bonded steel, the reinforcement amount of the bonded steel plate shall not exceed 3 and 4 layers respectively for the tension area and compression area, and the total thickness of the steel plate shall not exceed 10mm. However, the reinforcement amount of bonded carbon fiber cloth shall not exceed 2 layers for preformed plates and 4 layers for wet laid fabrics. When the number of layers exceeds 4, carbon fiber plate shall be considered for reinforcement and reliable anchoring measures shall be taken.
