FRP can be designed to increase the live load capacity of slabs or restore the original capacity reduced by corrosion of steel bars. According to the project conditions, FRP can be applied to the top or bottom surface of slab to achieve strengthening.

We have also developed solutions to increase the punching capacity of slabs around columns. Another common application of FRP is to reinforce areas around openings that may have to be cut in the board (e.g. stairs).
CFRP laminates with thickness of about 1.2-1.4 mm can be applied similar to wallpaper to strengthen the slab. These materials are cured in one day and have three times the tensile strength of steel.
CFRP provides the following benefits:
- Increase the bending strength of positive and negative moment region in slab.
- Increase slab stiffness and reduce deflection under load.
- Reduce crack width and enhance durability.
- Covering a small part of the slab surface with FRP may be enough to strengthen the whole slab surface.
- Fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) with a thickness of 1.2-1.4 mm can be easily hidden under floor coverings.
- FRP can also be used as a waterproof film.
- The application of FRP does not lead to a reduction in top clearance (e.g. in parking lots).
- Compared with traditional methods, FRP has lower cost.
